Pro's Tip

The longest hole on the course is played round a lake where the majority of the players will be pleased to record a five. Only the very longest hitters will consider taking on the second shot to reach the green in two, which will demand a well struck second almost completely across the water. Extensive bunkering is also a feature of this hole, each of the bunkers having a different part to play in the overall strategy both for the drive, second and third shots. Perhaps the most intriguing bunker is that which lies along the lake on the edge of the fairway protecting the second shot. Anyone finding this bunker off the right edge of the fairway will initially be relieved that the ball has not found water. However, the view from there to the green, some 100 yards away, will demand that the first 50 yards of this are over the corner of the lake, and it is generally regarded that a long bunker shot is the most difficult in golf. Consequently, many players finding this bunker will turn their back to the green to play to the security of the fairway.
