Pro's Tip

The first par 5 on the back nine offers a good birdie opportunity for the better player, with the hole being less than 500 yards. However the correct strategy will need to be adopted. No bunkers affect the tee shot, although trees off the right of the fairway will gather the off-line drive. It is the second shot which will pose the question to the majority of players, as the ideal line to the green for the third shot is from the right hand side of the fairway. However, to reach that position, bunkers on the right hand side of the fairway, approximately 80 yards short of the green will need to be carried. Players who play conservatively to the left of these will leave themselves a much more difficult pitch avoiding small pot bunkers and trees to the left of the green. Two bunkers lie off the right side of the two-level green, one, a small pot bunker just below the green surface, should not prove too great a problem for the better player, but the deep snaking bunker covering the whole of the right hand side will prove a more formidable problem.
